#CoachHemi Player Check-in – Grace Baird – March 14, 2019

Grace Baird – Nolensville High School (TN), Class of 2020

Baird broke onto our radar last fall at the Coach Hemi 615 Showcase in Lebanon, Tennessee. The 5-foot-10 guard showed an array of skills that should make her an effective next level player. She is backing up that impression with a productive high school season. She averaged 15.5 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals per game this season. This is evidence that she can produce on a nightly basis. Earlier this season she became the first female player in her school’s history to hit the 1,000 point mark. She is doing this with remarkable efficiency from distance at 44 percent.

She competed in Middle Tennessee where the competition is normally stiff. Even opposing coaches in the area have praised Baird for her abilities. In an interview with NolensvilleHomePage.com, Franklin High School head coach John Wild was quoted as saying that “Baird is one of the most versatile guards he has seen in the last five to seven years. “

Also mentioned in the article were schools such as Trevecca Nazarene, Alabama-Birmingham, Lipscomb, Florida Gulf Coast and Tennessee Tech as schools who have shown interest.

Nolensville finished the season with a 23-7 record, which ranks as one of the best in school history.
