Ashland, Kentucky – Whether you are a stock trader, real estate agent or a college coach the strategy is always the same: find your asset when it is at its’ lowest price point and invest. The best college coaches find players early and begin recruiting before the rest of the world knows about them. Although the Coach Hemi Summer Showcase featured several well-established prospects, it also showcased multiple prospects who will be trending the right direction by the time high school season starts this fall. Look at which players caught our eye in June.

Shadai Hale (Cincinnati, Ohio), Ohio Players – 2019
Hale is a forward who did a lot of work at the elbow area this weekend and was efficient doing it. She scored with defenders on her back and provided defense and energy. The 5-10 forward is transitioning to play more facing the bucket. Her ability to add range to her jumper while also keeping her interior production could signal big things for her future.
Lyric Harris (Fairfield, Ohio), Cincinnati Phenom – 2020
There may not be a more valuable asset in the game of basketball currently than versatility. That is exactly what Harris brings to both ends of the court. She finished strongly in the paint while also wreaking havoc on the defensive end. The 5-10 wing-forward is set to have a big July with the Phenom.
Jacey Justice (Peebles, Ohio), NEKY Swish – 2021
Justice is a shot maker. She can hit shots off the reversal or she can hit jumpers off the pull-up. Her soft touch and body control after putting the ball on the floor made her a standout in drills and in games.
Abby Kallner (Wheelersburg, Ohio), NEKY Swish – 2019
Kallner is a 5-7 guard who showed an unexpected swag at the camp. Her skill set is solid as she proved she can pass-dribble-shoot with the best in the camp. Her pull-up jumper caught our attention during game play.
Anna Landing (Beavercreek, Ohio), Team Championship Behavior – 2021
Landing is a young post player who has her best days on the court still in front of her. She is listed at 6-feet tall, but she gives the feel of a player even taller than that on the court. She is solid in the areas of altering shots and rebounding. Her offensive game around the bucket is not that far behind either. Look for Landing to keep improving as she enters the halls of high school.
Kaeil Ross-Collins (Flatwoods, Kentucky), NEKY Swish – 2021
There is a lot to like about Collins game. She has size, is strong and can make shots. She has evolved her game much since we last saw her last year at this same event. She shot-maker and has a polished skill set. The 5-8 guard has even more potential to grow into in future years.
Chloe Spreen (Williams, Indiana), Indiana Flight – 2024
Spreen was one of only a few 2024 prospects in the building and the only from player from Indiana. She represented her home state well showing a deep shooting stroke and a confident ball handling ability. She still has plenty of physical maturity left, but she showed the potential of bigger things to come.
Peyton Starks (Ellisville, Missouri), Missouri Phenom – 2021
Starks is a prospect who is on the verge of breaking out of her shell. She is long, athletic and has face-up skill. Her defensive ability and willingness to rebound is allows her to produce well right now. As she becomes more fluid with her skill set, expect her offensive production to follow.
Azyiah Williams (Milford, Ohio), Midwest Takeover – 2021
Williams has a mature game for her age. She is a young point guard who does a great job of keeping her head up and distributing to her teammates. More importantly she shifts gears to be able to create space going towards the basket.
Carmen Williams (Xenia, Ohio), All Ohio Xpress – 2018
Williams is a guard who thrives in transition. Her speed to push the tempo can be hard to contain. Add in her willingness to defend both in the half court and in run and jump situations and she is a player that has value in an array of situations.
