The great part of a camp setting is that it allows for new names to emerge as track-able prospects. Here is a look at a few of the underclassmen who we will be watching more of in the future.
By: @JLHemingwayPSB
Paige Bacon (Kingston, Tenn.), Midway HS – 2019
Bacon is a high energy guard who proved she could play alongside of some of the most talented players in the camp. We believe that Bacon will best be suited as a point guard in the long term. She is willing to play an up-tempo style and find the open player in transition. We will be anxious to watch Bacon in her development.
Shelby Calhoun (Louisville Ky.), Christian Academy of Louisville – 2020
Calhoun showed a world of promise and potential at the October camp. She has ball handling ability and a court sense that is usually gained after years of playing experience. The point guard has terrific size in the back court as she stands at 5-foot-8. Her willingness to pass and get others involved will serve her well in the future.
Emma Capps (Crossville, Tenn.), North Cumberland – 2020
At 6-foot, Capps has the size to play inside to defend and rebound. However, her skill allows her to play facing the basket effectively. She showed range and ball handling ability while playing around the elbow. She has not entered high school yet, but has made a solid reputation for herself at #TeamEBA events.
D’Anna Cvetnich (Pound, Va.), – Central High School – 2019
Cvetnich caught our eye at the #EBAAllAmerican Camp on Labor Day weekend. Her soft touch and willingness to play around the rim made her one of the better young posts in the building. At the Fall Workout, she showed much of the same with added range on the offensive end. Her long-term effectiveness will be tied to footwork and agility.
Laylah Davis (Dallas, Ga.), Moses Middle School – 2020
We were impressed with the aggressiveness of Davis at the Fall Workout. Her willingness to hound the ball as a defender is what sets her apart as a young guard. She showed aggressiveness with the drive on the offensive end. Although she still has room to improve, she has a solid foundation of skills to build upon.

Evie DePetro (Knoxville, Tenn.), Halls MS – 2020
DePetro first got on our radar at the #PSBPower48 while playing for coach Will Trumm’s Kentucky Premier group in July. Since then the eighth grader has shown that she is a wing with ball skill and size. She appears to have a nice feel for the game and will make the right pass at the right time.
Lindsey Freeman (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.), Wilson Central HS – 2020
Freeman demonstrated her specialty as a high energy wing player who can play inside and out. She has good size as just an eighth grader and also has the ball handling moves to create space on the perimeter. Her ability to hit the open jumper in the future will dictate how much of an impact that she will have in coach John Wild’s program.
Caitlyn Ross (Kingston, Tenn.), – Midway HS – 2019
Ross backed up her repuation as a fundamental play maker at the Fall Workout in October. Her ability to make shots and move without the ball allowed her to put up points while playing alongside some of the best players in the country. She will be a solid contributor at either the point or shooting guard position.
Paige Shy (Huntington, W.V.), – St. Joseph’s – 2019
Shy is becoming one of the next good shooters to come from the state of West Virginia. It should come as no surprise as she plays for coach Scott Johnson’s West Virginia Thunder organization, which seems to produce sharp shooters on a yearly basis. Her size, fundamentals and shot making ability make her a player to track.
Bailey Trumm (Knoxville, Tenn.), Hall MS – 2020
Trumm is shooting guard with good technique and fundamentals. She is most comfortable now while spotting up along the perimeter and finding opportunities to hit open jumpers. Still in middle school, physical maturation and development will lead to increased production in future years.
