POST DRILLS

POST DRILLS

Developing post players is a difficult thing to do if you do not have a grasp of the finer points on how to teach it. Learning how to gain position on the low block is tougher to teach than training a player to dribble around cones. There is an endless amount of footwork, timing and balance that must be invested.

Here is a series of 3 man drills that coaches can use in the pre-season or during position breakdown areas during practice. These drills can be used with defense or without. I would suggest using other post players as passers to allow them to see both ends of the spectrum. These drills can easily be turned into 3/3 or 4/4 game situations.
