Klint Pleasant is quickly becoming one of small college basketball’s best coaches. His coaching resume’ is packed with helping Kent State reach the Elite 8 in 2002 while also serving as an assistant for legendary Hall of Fame coach Don Meyer while attending Lipscomb University. He has built upon his father’s (Garth) legacy there at Rochester College (Mich.) since taking over as head coach in 2011.
His recent accomplishments include:
81-20 record in 3 seasons
Small college National Championship
NAIA National Tournament appearance
Finishing in the top 10 in the NAIA Final season polls
NAIA Coach of Character award
In 2011 I had a chance to watch coach Pleasant’s team play first hand in Charleston, Ill., as they took on Division I foe Eastern Illinois in Lantz Gymnasium. His team walked out that day with a win over an Ohio Valley Conference opponent and left me impressed. His team exhibited superb execution and toughness that is rare to find these days. Visit their website below and take a look at a small portion of what coach Pleasant likes to do on offense.
