Around the Rim from the CoachHemi.com Showcase – March 24, 2014

Around the Rim from the CoachHemi.com Showcase – March 24, 2014

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Over 40 prospects in the classes of 2014-2016 competed and trained at the CoachHemi.com Showcase at Riverdale High School. The amount of talent impressed all in attendance and also made for quality game-play. Here is look at a few of the notable performers from the weekend.

Around the Rim

A pair of elite prospects from Indiana made the drive to Middle Tennessee to get extra work at the CoachHemi.com Showcase. Class of 2015 and Notre Dame commit Ali Patberg of Columbus, Ind. and class of 2016 forward Jackie Young of Princeton, Ind. worked with lead trainer Christian Simmons fervently while in town. Watch for both to have outstanding spring and summer this year for their respective travel teams.

Chassity Carter of Dickson, Tenn. is a versatile perimeter player and a threat to make an impact on both sides of the ball. Remarkably she is a terrific passer and a facilitator of the offense while also being able to get her shot at any moment. On the defensive end, she can guard a number of players both inside and outside of the arc.

Torri Lewis of Olive Branch, Miss. continues to be one of the more skilled and productive guards that we see each year. The class of 2015 combo guard should be of interest for a number of programs around the nation.

We got a fresh look at class of 2015 wing Alexis Brewer of Buffalo, Ky. this weekend. Standing at 5-foot-11 she possesses nice size and the ability to play inside and out.

Makayla Timmons of Columbia, Tenn. certainly was one of the better play-makers at the CoachHemi.com Showcase. Her ability to penetrate the defense going either direction puts her in the conversation of one of the top point guards regionally in the class of 2015.

A class of 2016 point guard who is making steady improvement is Akia Harris of Chattanooga, Tenn. Although slight of frame, she is quick and skilled which allows her to make plays with the ball in her hands.

Hannah Pendergrass of Murfreesboro, Tenn. is an unsigned senior that made her mark as a quality prospect this weekend. Her length and ability to shoot the basketball make her the type of player that could be a specialist within the right system.
